Job Description

As a Backend Engineering Intern, you will work closely with the Core Engineering team to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services that power critical business systems and customer-facing features. This internship provides hands-on experience with real production systems and modern backend development practices.

You will have the opportunity to solve real engineering challenges and contribute to systems across the backend stack, including APIs, databases, caching layers, and cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineers to design and implement backend services using Java and related technologies.
Develop and optimize APIs and microservices that power key product features.
Design efficient data models and write optimized queries using databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
Utilize caching technologies such as Redis to improve application performance.
Work with cloud services, primarily AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and IAM.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to team discussions and knowledge sharing.
Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues in development and production environments.

Skills & Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Strong programming skills in Java.
Understanding of relational databases such as MySQL.
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
Knowledge of caching technologies like Redis.
Basic understanding of AWS cloud services and cloud computing concepts.
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
Ability to take ownership and contribute effectively in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Good communication and collaboration skills for working within a team.
