Role Overview

AMD is seeking a dynamic and motivated Software Engineer to join its growing engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of AMD’s software stack while supporting the delivery of high-quality, industry-leading technologies.

You will collaborate with engineering teams, architects, and project managers to design, develop, and validate innovative solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of software engineering principles and the ability to work on scalable and high-performance systems.

Key Responsibilities

Understand design features and update the software stack to support new functionality.
Validate system designs using test beds and development environments.
Contribute actively to a high-performing feature development team.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions aligned with product goals.
Assist in designing and implementing future architecture for scalable and durable systems.
Work closely with development teams and project managers to achieve project milestones and deliver results.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
Strong knowledge of programming languages such as C and C++.
Understanding of object-oriented design principles.
Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
Understanding of operating system concepts and multithreaded programming.
Familiarity with Linux environments and modern development tools.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, Shell scripting, or Makefile.
Knowledge of FPGA architecture.
Experience with Xilinx implementation tools such as Vivado.
Experience working with modern software development practices and toolchains.
