Introduction

OnGrid is hiring Software Engineering Interns to contribute to the development of scalable and high-quality web applications. This role offers hands-on experience in both frontend and backend development, enabling interns to work on real production systems.

As an intern, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, take ownership of features, and gain exposure to modern engineering workflows. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to build strong technical foundations while contributing meaningfully to live products.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Development

Assist in developing and maintaining frontend and backend features for web applications.
Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using modern frontend frameworks.
Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
Work with databases to design, query, and optimize data models.

Execution & Problem Solving

Take ownership of assigned features from design through deployment.
Debug issues, improve application performance, and optimize workflows.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Apply strong problem-solving skills to deliver efficient solutions.

Growth & Collaboration

Participate in code reviews, stand-ups, and sprint planning.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams.
Gain exposure to real-world software development workflows and best practices.
Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Required Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong understanding of web development concepts including client-server architecture, APIs, and databases.
Proficiency in frontend development using React.js and CSS.
Familiarity with at least one backend language or framework such as Node.js, Python, Java, or Ruby.
Strong knowledge of database systems including SQL and NoSQL.
Experience using Git or other version control systems.
Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn.
Prior internship experience or contributions to open-source projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working on production-level applications.
Familiarity with modern development tools and frameworks.
Understanding of scalable system design and performance optimization.
