Role Overview

As a Software Development Engineer (SDE) Intern, you will join the core engineering team to build and scale SpaceSync. You will contribute to backend systems, frontend architecture, and API development while working in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment.

This role is ideal for candidates with strong fundamentals in computer science, hands-on development experience, and a passion for solving real-world problems through technology.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django.
Design and build REST APIs with proper authentication and ORM integration.
Develop responsive and scalable frontend components using React.
Collaborate with the core team to enhance product features and system architecture.
Contribute to database design and integration with relational databases.
Follow version control best practices using Git.
Participate in debugging, optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals.
Proficiency in Python and Django (REST APIs, ORM, authentication).
Hands-on experience with React (hooks, state management, component architecture).
Understanding of RESTful API design and relational databases.
Familiarity with Git workflows.
Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to learn quickly in a startup environment.

Preferred Skills (Bonus)

Exposure to TypeScript.
Experience with 3D graphics libraries such as Babylon.js or Three.js.
Knowledge of AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) or BIM domain concepts.
