Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Python Developer for a 6-month contractual role based in Pune (Remote). The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend services.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI, implementing asynchronous programming patterns using async/await.
Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL database schemas, optimizing queries using complex SQL.
Contribute to system design, including the implementation of microservices architectures.
Optimize API response time and database performance by implementing caching strategies using Redis.
Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms following secure coding practices.
Develop and maintain unit, integration, and API tests, ensuring high code coverage.
Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps teams, and product stakeholders.
Participate in technical discussions and contribute to designing and documenting Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
Create and maintain SOP documentation for implemented use cases.
Provide timely development status reports and updates to the customer project team.

Requirements

Proficiency in Python (4+ years preferred).
Strong understanding of FastAPI for building RESTful APIs.
Experience with PostgreSQL and writing complex SQL queries.
Familiarity with Redis for caching strategies.
Good understanding of SSH, shell commands, and Linux systems.
Proficient in using GitLab and repository-based coding workflows (version control, branch management).
Experience with microservices-based architectures.
