As a Software Engineer II (Full-stack) at JP MorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms team, you will architect, build, and optimize software systems that support core internal services and tools. Your role centers on designing, implementing, and evolving robust platform solutions, collaborating with cross-functional partners to translate user needs and operational bottlenecks into high-quality applications. You will contribute to the technical direction of the team, take responsibility for end-to-end delivery, and help establish engineering standards that advance reliability, efficiency, and maintainability.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy scalable full-stack platform tools for infrastructure teams.
Enhance reliability and performance of critical internal systems through engineering best practices.
Collaborate with engineering and operations groups to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Integrate new technologies and frameworks into platform services to improve developer productivity.
Automate workflows and monitoring processes to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
Review code, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Participate in planning, testing, and release processes to ensure robust software delivery.

Requirements

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
Strong full-stack development experience, supporting infrastructure or platform teams.
Proven expertise in backend development, including Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
Advanced skills in frontend engineering using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frameworks like React or Angular.
Practical experience with database management systems such as Oracle or MS SQL Server.
Proficiency using Tableau for reporting and data visualization.
Applied automation in unit, functional, and regression testing within software delivery pipelines.
Experience with AI-driven code generation, optimization, and automation.
Familiarity with GenAI tools for development, testing, or documentation tasks.
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and deliver high-quality solutions on complex projects.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Experience with container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker) in production environments.
Knowledge of observability, monitoring, and logging solutions for large-scale systems.
Background in security compliance or distributed infrastructure design.
Contributions to open source or active participation in developer communities.
