Role Overview
AbsoluteHub is seeking a Cyber Security Intern to support cybersecurity monitoring, vulnerability assessment, security analysis, and basic incident response activities. The selected intern will work on assigned cybersecurity tasks and projects under the guidance of the team to develop practical experience in real-world security scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Assist with identifying and analyzing basic cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities.
- Perform basic vulnerability assessment and security testing activities.
- Monitor and analyze security alerts, logs, and suspicious activities.
- Assist in identifying potential security risks and recommending basic mitigation measures.
- Work with fundamental network security concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and firewalls.
- Use cybersecurity tools and platforms for basic security analysis.
- Assist with basic penetration testing and security assessment tasks under supervision.
- Document security findings, observations, methodologies, and recommendations.
- Assist with cybersecurity projects and security awareness activities.
- Communicate security-related findings clearly to the team.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts.
- Familiarity with computer networks and operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of Linux and Windows environments.
- Understanding of common cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
- Familiarity with tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, or Burp Suite is preferred.
- Basic understanding of ethical hacking or penetration testing is an advantage.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python is an advantage.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
