Role Overview
Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs. This role involves MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow model development, requirements interpretation, simulation, debugging, auto-code generation support, documentation, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow models for BCM application software and automotive body electronics features.
- Analyze system and software requirements and translate them into model-based design components, control logic, state machines, and reusable model libraries.
- Implement BCM functions such as lighting, wiper, washer, central locking, power windows, mirrors, horn, and body access features using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Perform model simulation, debugging, unit-level verification, and functional validation using Model-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop environments.
- Support auto-code generation from Simulink models and coordinate with embedded software teams for integration, build, and basic issue debugging.
- Create and maintain model documentation, design notes, interface details, calibration parameters, signal mapping, and test evidence.
- Review model quality against modelling guidelines, naming conventions, signal consistency, and data type usage.
- Collaborate with requirements, architecture, software development, integration, validation, and customer teams.
- Support defect analysis, model updates, regression checks, and technical clarifications.
- Ensure alignment with automotive engineering processes, configuration management practices, and coding guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience required.
- Overall 4 to 6 years of experience in automotive embedded software development, MATLAB/Simulink model-based development, or control software development.
- Hands-on experience in MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, model development, model debugging, simulation, and model-based software design.
- Experience in developing control logic, state machines, truth tables, reusable subsystems, signal routing, data dictionaries, and model interfaces.
- Good understanding of automotive ECU software development lifecycle (BCM, body electronics, chassis, powertrain, ADAS).
- Working knowledge of Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, unit testing, and simulation-based verification.
- Familiarity with automatic code generation, Embedded Coder, TargetLink, and MISRA C.
- Working knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, UDS diagnostics, and ECU communication concepts.
- Exposure to requirements management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, Polarion, Git, or SVN.
- Basic exposure to ASPICE, ISO 26262, and AUTOSAR concepts is an advantage.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related stream.
- 15 years full time education.
