Role Overview
Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow models for BCM application software and automotive body electronics features.
- Analyze system and software requirements and translate them into model-based design components, control logic, state machines, and reusable model libraries.
- Implement BCM functions such as lighting, wiper, washer, central locking, power windows, mirrors, horn, and body access features using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Perform model simulation, debugging, unit-level verification, and functional validation using Model-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop environments.
- Support auto-code generation from Simulink models and coordinate with embedded software teams for integration, build, and basic issue debugging.
- Create and maintain model documentation, design notes, interface details, calibration parameters, signal mapping, and test evidence as per project process needs.
- Review model quality against modelling guidelines, naming conventions, signal consistency, data type usage, and reusable component structure.
- Collaborate with requirements, architecture, software development, integration, validation, and customer teams to clarify functional behavior and close open technical points.
- Support defect analysis, model updates, regression checks, and technical clarifications during development, integration, and validation phases.
- Ensure alignment with automotive engineering processes, configuration management practices, coding guidelines, and customer-specific delivery expectations.
Requirements
- Overall 4 to 6 years of experience in automotive embedded software development, MATLAB/Simulink model-based development, or control software development.
- Hands-on experience in MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, model development, model debugging, simulation, and model-based software design.
- Experience in developing control logic, state machines, truth tables, reusable subsystems, signal routing, data dictionaries, and model interfaces.
- Good understanding of automotive ECU software development lifecycle, preferably for BCM, body electronics, chassis, powertrain, ADAS, or similar vehicle domains.
- Working knowledge of Model-in-the-Loop, Software-in-the-Loop, unit testing, simulation-based verification, and requirement-based test case development.
- Familiarity with automatic code generation, Embedded Coder, TargetLink, MISRA C expectations, and generated code integration is desirable.
- Working knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, UDS diagnostics, ECU communication concepts, vehicle signals, and signal database usage.
- Exposure to requirements management, traceability, configuration management, defect lifecycle, and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, Polarion, Git, or SVN.
- Basic exposure to ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR concepts, software quality checks, and model review guidelines will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work in Agile or V-model delivery environments and collaborate with distributed offshore, onsite, OEM, and supplier teams.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or any related stream.
