Role Overview
Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Use modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions tailored to specific business needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute MATLAB/Simulink-based test cases for BCM application software and automotive body electronics features under guidance.
- Analyze software and model requirements to prepare basic requirement-based test scenarios, test steps, expected results, and verification notes.
- Support Model-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop testing for Simulink and Stateflow models used in BCM features such as lighting, wiper, washer, central locking, power windows, mirrors, horn, and body access functions.
- Create and update simple test harnesses, input stimulus data, simulation setups, signal checks, and regression test scripts using MATLAB and Simulink tools.
- Execute test cases, analyze test results, capture observations, log defects, and support retesting after model or software updates.
- Assist in debugging failed simulations by reviewing signal behavior, state transitions, input conditions, model interfaces, and expected functional behavior.
- Maintain basic traceability between requirements, test cases, test results, and defects as per project process expectations.
- Collaborate with model developers, requirements engineers, integration engineers, validation teams, and quality teams to clarify test observations and close assigned verification tasks.
- Prepare test execution logs, defect notes, regression status updates, and verification evidence for internal review.
- Follow automotive testing processes, model verification guidelines, configuration management practices, and customer-specific quality expectations.
Requirements
- Overall 2 to 4 years of experience in automotive embedded software testing, MATLAB/Simulink model testing, model-based verification, or control software validation.
- Hands-on or working experience in MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Simulink Test, model simulation, test execution, and basic debugging.
- Experience in executing Model-in-the-Loop and Software-in-the-Loop test cases, analyzing simulation outputs, reporting defects, and supporting regression testing.
- Basic understanding of automotive ECU software development and testing lifecycle, preferably for BCM, body electronics, chassis, powertrain, ADAS, or similar vehicle domains.
- Working knowledge of test case preparation, test execution, expected result comparison, signal monitoring, functional scenario testing, and defect documentation.
- Familiarity with model coverage, requirement coverage, and verification evidence preparation is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, UDS diagnostics, ECU communication concepts, vehicle signals, and signal database usage.
- Exposure to requirements management, traceability, configuration management, defect lifecycle, and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, DOORS, Polarion, Git, or SVN.
- Basic exposure to ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR concepts, software quality checks, and model verification guidelines will be an added advantage.
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or any related stream.
- 15 years full time education.
