Role Overview
We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with 1+ years of experience to join our team. This role focuses on optimizing, maintaining, and automating both modern cloud pipelines and traditional, manually hosted infrastructure. The ideal candidate will leverage CCNA-level networking skills and Linux system administration to manage physical or bare-metal servers, while systematically transitioning manual workflows into automated, containerised environments.
Responsibilities
- Apply CCNA-level knowledge to configure and troubleshoot VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Manage and optimize manually hosted applications on bare-metal and virtualized on-premise Linux environments.
- Maintain automated build and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
- Provision and scale environments using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Administer and optimize Ubuntu/Linux servers, focusing on performance tuning and network security.
- Support containerised applications using Docker and basic Amazon EKS Kubernetes orchestration.
- Monitor uptime and configure alerts using Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
- Implement security best practices, access management, and secret management across environments.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in DevOps, Network Administration, or Systems Engineering roles.
- Valid CCNA certification or equivalent deep knowledge of TCP/IP, subnets, and routing protocols.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting manual server deployments (Apache, Nginx, or SSH-based manual hosting).
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Ubuntu server administration and command-line troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Bash or Python to automate manual operational tasks.
- Solid understanding of Git workflows and branching strategies.
- Deep familiarity with public clouds such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
