Software Engineer

Role Overview

AHEAD is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join the team building Hatch, an advanced platform for IT lifecycle management, renewal, procurement, and logistics. You will join a progressive engineering team focused on building real products using a modern stack, including Elixir and Phoenix. This role is designed for early-career engineers to contribute to real features, grow toward end-to-end ownership, and leverage AI tools and coding agents to accelerate development and learning.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to features across platforms and grow toward owning them end-to-end.
• Build full-stack functionality for internal and public web applications.
• Use AI tools and agents to work, learn, and harden shipped code.
• Participate in the full development life cycle: implementation, testing, debugging, and support.
• Engage in code reviews to provide and receive feedback.
• Collaborate with teammates and end users to understand business requirements.
• Write reliable, well-tested code and resolve issues promptly.

Requirements

• Foundation in software development (CS degree, bootcamp, internships, or equivalent experience).
• Developing engineering judgment and a product mindset.
• Interest in using modern AI development tools with a focus on verification and testing.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language.
• Eagerness to learn Elixir and Phoenix.
• Growing foundation in software design, testing, version control, and code review.
• Strong communication skills and a high degree of curiosity.
