Backend Intern

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer Intern – Backend at ALLEN Digital, you will work closely with experienced engineers to build and enhance robust backend systems that power our products. You will get hands-on experience working with Go, APIs, databases, and backend development practices while contributing to real-world projects. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who are passionate about backend development, eager to learn, and excited to build scalable and maintainable software in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to understand project requirements.
• Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Go-based applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues and assist in implementing effective solutions.
• Work with APIs, libraries, and frameworks to integrate systems seamlessly.
• Learn and apply backend development best practices, including performance optimization and scalability.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies related to Go and backend development.

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong interest in backend software development and willingness to learn.
• Basic understanding of Go programming language and its core concepts.
• Familiarity with web frameworks such as Gin, Echo, or similar frameworks is a plus.
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs and backend development principles.
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Academic, personal, or open-source projects demonstrating programming or backend development skills will be an added advantage.
