Backend Developer (Fintech)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Backend Developer to develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services for our Android application portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain REST API endpoints.
• Write database queries, migrations and stored procedures.
• Implement business logic and input validation.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Debug production issues using logs and monitoring tools.
• Maintain Swagger/OpenAPI documentation.
• Support the Android development team with API-related issues.
• Assist with database maintenance and production support.

Requirements

• Backend development experience in Node.js, Java, Python or PHP.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• REST API development experience.
• Understanding of authentication and input sanitisation.
• Knowledge of Git and Postman.
• Ability to read application logs.
• Basic Linux command-line knowledge.

Nice to Have

• Docker and Redis.
• Message queue experience.
• Payment/third-party API integration.
• CI/CD pipeline exposure.
