Role Overview
The Amazon Device Observability & Troubleshooting Team ensures device and application customers have delightful experiences by enabling swift, precise, and privacy-compliant observability and issue resolution. As an SDE, you will lead the architecture, design, development, and launch of core product features, transforming vast amounts of device data into actionable insights through high-scale data ingestion, advanced analytics, and intuitive troubleshooting interfaces.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the architecture of software solutions, improving subsystem compatibility, and developing major routines and utilities.
- Proactively liaise with business and technical teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Preparation of technical requirements and software design specifications.
- Instilling best practices for software development and documentation to deliver high-quality software on tight schedules.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
- Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices, including continuous deployments and operational excellence.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience in debugging, profiling, and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems.
