Linux System Engineer

Role Overview

This role focuses on the management, maintenance, and support of Linux-based server infrastructure, application deployment, and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky/Ubuntu).
• Perform updates, package installation, log analysis, user management, and service configuration.
• Monitor servers using Zabbix and respond to alerts promptly.
• Deploy and maintain applications on WildFly/JBoss servers.
• Execute DB scripts safely and coordinate with the DB team where necessary.
• Support front-end and back-end deployment workflows.
• Configure and manage Docker containers.
• Support Jenkins jobs — build, deploy, troubleshoot.
• Create/modify basic Ansible playbooks and automation scripts.
• Handle system-related tickets, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure timely closure.
• Troubleshoot application, server, network, and configuration issues.
• Install and configure virtual machines using VMware or equivalent platforms.
• Support load balancing using HAProxy.
• Maintain system documentation, deployment logs, and SOPs.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and fundamentals.
• Experience with WildFly/JBoss application deployment.
• Knowledge of Shell scripting, Docker, Jenkins, and Ansible.
• Basic SQL and DB script execution skills.
• Understanding of networking (SSH, firewall, DNS, IP).
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms (VMware).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Zabbix.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MCA, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in Linux-based infrastructure is preferred.
