Data Science Intern

Role Overview

The One Health Team at ARTPARK @ IISc works with the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor, local and state governments, and international research groups to aid efforts in disease modelling and epidemiological analysis. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work at the Data Science Innovation Hub to contribute to disease management and support the National One Health Mission.

Responsibilities

• Organise and analyse health, geospatial and other related data from multiple sources into a form usable by computational models
• Contribute to the development of robust and scalable statistical and machine-learning models
• Consolidate findings and prepare reports to effectively communicate insights
• Collaborate with data and engineering teams to develop data visualisations and dashboard integrations

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor or master degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, data science or related quantitative scientific discipline
• Basic knowledge of applied and computational mathematics, including statistics, differential equations and linear algebra
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Prior experience with computational modelling and handling large datasets is desirable
• Prior knowledge of disease modelling is desirable but not mandatory
