Role Overview
AVPL International is looking for a Firmware Installation & Drone Software Engineer responsible for installing, configuring, and optimizing firmware and software for DRONE systems. You will work with embedded systems, PID tuning, flight control software, and various drone operating systems to ensure all drones are properly configured and optimized for peak performance before delivery to customers.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure firmware on flight controllers, autopilots, and embedded systems for DRONE
- Perform PID tuning and optimization of drone flight control parameters for stability and responsiveness
- Configure and calibrate sensors (IMU, GPS, compass, barometer) for proper drone operation
- Install and configure drone operating systems and middleware software platforms
- Work with flight control software packages (Ardupilot, PX4, Betaflight, etc.)
- Perform software testing and validation to ensure proper firmware functionality
- Troubleshoot firmware and software issues and implement fixes
- Create and maintain firmware configuration documentation and calibration logs
- Update firmware versions and manage version control for different drone variants
- Interface with autopilot software and ground control stations (Mission Planner, QGroundControl)
- Conduct functionality testing of all software-dependent systems (navigation, communication, payload control)
- Provide technical support to assembly and testing teams on software-related issues
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, or Aeronautical Engineering
- 3-5 years' experience in firmware installation, embedded systems, or drone software configuration
- Experience with PID tuning and control systems
- Knowledge of autopilot systems and flight control software (Ardupilot, PX4, etc.)
- Experience with ground control station software and mission planning tools
- Understanding of sensor calibration and integration
- Knowledge of communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, MAVLink)
- Proficiency in working with development environments and command-line tools
- Experience with C/C++ programming or similar embedded systems languages is a plus
- Good documentation and technical writing skills in English
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
