Junior Software Engineer

Role Overview

Join the Technology team at Ballard Spahr as a Junior Software Engineer. You will gain hands-on experience across the full software development lifecycle, working on modern web applications, cloud technologies, business intelligence solutions, and emerging Generative AI initiatives. This role involves contributing to both frontend and backend technologies to support mission-critical legal applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance web-based applications using C# and .NET.
• Design, build, and support APIs that power business applications.
• Participate in application modernization by migrating systems to ReactJS and Next.js.
• Support legacy applications built with MVC and AngularJS.
• Develop and maintain reports using Power BI and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Query, manage, and manipulate data within SQL databases.
• Contribute to Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Assist with support and maintenance of Azure-hosted applications, including App Services and Functions.
• Work with Docker and Azure Container Registry (ACR).
• Support and enhance Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps.
• Support innovative initiatives involving Generative AI technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Hands-on experience with C#/.NET, web application development, and API integration.
• Experience building responsive applications using React, Next.js, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Foundational knowledge of SQL, database management, and reporting tools.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application environments.
• Experience with Power BI, SSRS, and/or Power Platform solutions.
• Exposure to Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development practices.
