Front End Developer Intern (React Native)

Role Overview

Begin is a growing technology company focused on building intuitive, user-centered digital products. This is a part-time, fully remote Front End Developer Intern (React Native) role with flexible timings, suited to students or early-career developers. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to build and maintain mobile application interfaces for social and dating products, focusing on usability, performance, and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Implement UI components using React Native and Expo.
• Integrate REST APIs and handle loading, empty, and error states.
• Write clean and maintainable TypeScript code.
• Translate Figma wireframes and mockups into functional screens.
• Break large screens into reusable components.
• Test features on physical Android and iOS devices.
• Participate in code reviews and document work for future reference.

Requirements

• Foundational skills in TypeScript and React Native, including hooks and state management.
• Familiarity with building responsive mobile layouts using Flexbox.
• Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to translate design files into accurate, working screens.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Reliable internet connection and a machine capable of running React Native tooling.
• Access to at least one physical Android or iOS device for testing.
