Backend Developer

Role Overview

BeSpoke AI Stylist is an AI-powered fashion technology company focused on delivering personalized styling experiences through artificial intelligence, data-driven insights, and innovative digital solutions. We are building a scalable platform that helps users discover their style, manage wardrobes, and receive intelligent fashion recommendations.

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to build, maintain, and optimize the core infrastructure and APIs that power our AI styling platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in backend development, database management, cloud services, and scalable system design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Build scalable and secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support web and mobile applications.
• Collaborate with AI Engineers, Frontend Developers, and Product teams to integrate AI-driven features.
• Design and manage databases, ensuring performance, security, and reliability.
• Develop and maintain authentication, authorization, and user management systems.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and availability.
• Implement cloud-based infrastructure and deployment pipelines using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical architecture decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Python, Node.js, Java, or Go.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth, JWT, SSO).
• Familiarity with Docker, containerization, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with AI/ML-powered applications.
• Knowledge of vector databases and AI service integrations.
• Experience with real-time systems, messaging queues (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka), and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with fashion-tech, e-commerce, SaaS, or startup environments.
• Experience working with Kubernetes and infrastructure automation tools.
