Role Overview
Bioscan Research is a medical technology company developing innovative, evidence-based healthcare technologies combining sensing, electronics, embedded systems, software and AI. We are expanding our next-generation physiological monitoring platform and are looking for an intern interested in building real-world medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate biomedical sensors and sensing technologies.
- Support selection and integration of sensors such as ECG, SpO₂ and other physiological sensors.
- Develop and test sensor interface electronics and signal-acquisition circuits.
- Work with microcontrollers and embedded systems for sensor data acquisition.
- Develop basic firmware for sensor interfacing, communication and data acquisition.
- Develop software tools for data logging, visualization and signal analysis.
- Perform basic signal processing, filtering and quality assessment of physiological signals.
- Characterize sensors and evaluate signal quality under different conditions.
- Integrate multiple sensors into a common hardware/software platform.
- Support prototyping, debugging and testing of sensing modules.
- Document experiments, designs, test results and development findings.
- Work closely with hardware, firmware, software and AI engineers.
Requirements
- Pursuing Bachelor's/Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation or a related field.
- Strong interest in medical devices, sensors and physiological signal processing.
- Basic understanding of analog electronics and sensor interfaces.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded programming.
- Basic programming skills in C/C++ and/or Python.
- Understanding of signals and systems, digital signal processing or biomedical signals is desirable.
- Familiarity with tools such as Arduino/STM32, MATLAB, Python, LTspice or similar is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience with electronics prototyping, oscilloscopes, multimeters or development boards is preferred.
- Curious, analytical and willing to experiment and troubleshoot.
- Strong interest in research and developing new sensing technologies is highly desirable.
