Software Engineer in Test

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer in Test at Blackpoint Cyber, you will build and execute automated tests for cloud-based cybersecurity solutions. You will work alongside engineering teams to test cloud-native interfaces and microservices, applying established testing frameworks and best practices while growing your skills in quality engineering and automation.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated test scripts and cases within existing frameworks to support testing of cybersecurity products.
• Execute test plans across endpoint, cloud-based, and microservices-driven security solutions.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to apply quality practices throughout the SDLC.
• Support the integration of automated tests into existing CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, and track defects, and work with engineering teams to help drive them to resolution.
• Use AI-powered engineering and testing tools to support automation development and defect detection.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or a related technical role.
• Working knowledge of automation frameworks such as Playwright, JUnit, or TestNG.
• Scripting/programming experience in TypeScript or Python.
• Foundational understanding of CI/CD concepts and familiarity with tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Git and an interest in developing TDD and BDD skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
