UI Software Engineer - React.JS and Ext.JS

Role Overview

Blue Yonder Defense Solutions (BYDS) is looking for a versatile and motivated UI Software Engineer to join our team. You'll primarily be a front-end engineer driving the design and development of user-facing applications, with enough backend experience to integrate with databases and services independently. You'll collaborate across multiple internal teams building features, improving UX, and rapidly pivoting to support evolving requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build responsive, intuitive UI components using React.js, with a strong focus on user experience
• Design, develop, and maintain a cross-platform desktop application built with Electron.js
• Develop and maintain Node.js backend logic and system-level integrations within the desktop application
• Build and deliver new features for an Android mobile application
• Design and manage lightweight local databases using SQLite, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization
• Collaborate closely with multiple internal teams to analyze feature requirements and triage requests
• Conduct UX reviews and iterate on interface designs based on user feedback
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

Requirements

• 3 - 6 years of professional software development experience
• 2+ years of Android development experience using Android Studio
• Deep experience with React.js including component design, hooks, and state management
• Strong proficiency with Electron.js, including main/renderer process architecture
• Strong working knowledge of Node.js, including building APIs and asynchronous code
• Hands-on experience with SQLite or other lightweight embedded databases
• Demonstrated UX/UI design sensibility to produce clean interfaces
• Capable Java developer able to read, debug, and write APIs
• Proficient with Oracle SQL to independently write and analyze queries
• Immediate joiners preferred
