Role Overview
As an Application System Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for packaging, deployment, and lifecycle management of enterprise applications across Windows environments. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, and release management teams to ensure smooth application delivery and adherence to organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain Windows application packages for enterprise deployments.
- Perform application packaging using MSI, EXE, and MSP packaging technologies and tools.
- Manage application releases and coordinate deployment activities across environments.
- Create and enhance PowerShell scripts to automate packaging, deployment, and operational tasks.
- Troubleshoot application installation, upgrade, and uninstallation issues.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and support teams to ensure seamless software delivery.
- Implement and support CI/CD concepts within application packaging and release processes.
- Conduct package validation, compatibility testing, and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain packaging documentation, operational procedures, and deployment standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance deployment efficiency and reliability.
Requirements
- 4-10 years of experience in Windows Application Packaging and Release Management.
- Strong experience in Windows application packaging development and maintenance.
- Hands-on expertise with MSI, EXE, and MSP packaging tools.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in PowerShell scripting.
- Good understanding of application deployment methodologies and software distribution processes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
- Experience troubleshooting packaging and deployment-related issues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
