Software Engineer I

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer, DevOps, you will be responsible for building DevOps strategies, leading initiatives, designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating software development processes, managing cloud infrastructure, and ensuring system reliability to accelerate Cloud software delivery at Cepheid.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Build infrastructure by creating scalable build infrastructure and utilizing build servers to automate tasks.
• Design, build, and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Oversee and manage cloud AWS environments using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices.
• Provide system administration for development and production tool servers including Perforce, JIRA, Confluence, and Coverity.
• Implement and enhance monitoring systems to ensure high availability and performance.
• Ensure DevOps processes adhere to security best practices and compliance standards.
• Provide documentation including IQ protocols, backup and recovery policies, and maintenance plans.

Requirements

• Engineering degree in computer science or equivalent with 1+ years of related work experience as a DevOps engineer.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Skilled in developing Infrastructure as Code with experience with Terraform, Puppet, or Chef.
• Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have

• AWS certified developer.
• Background in leveraging AI to improve operational performance.
• Experience working with distributed teams in a global setting.
