Test Engineer - Automation testing with playwright

Role Overview

CGI is looking for a talented and motivated Test Engineer with strong expertise in Automation, Selenium, API, and Playwright to build and manage scalable, efficient, and reliable testing frameworks and infrastructure. You will support the Financial Services Group, helping to shape digital solutions for a global enterprise by transforming testing processes into actionable quality insights.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
• Create and enhance automation frameworks for UI and end-to-end testing.
• Develop and execute functional, regression, smoke, and cross-browser test suites.
• Collaborate with developers and business analysts to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Perform API testing using tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
• Validate application functionality across multiple browsers and devices.
• Maintain test documentation and automation reports.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• 3–10 years of experience in Software Testing/QA Automation.
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation.
• Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience in UI, functional, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
• Experience with API testing using Postman or REST Assured.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with Git and version control.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud-based testing platforms.
• Knowledge of performance or security testing.
• Experience with Docker or containerized test execution.
