API Developer, Reservoir Management & Forecasting

Role Overview

The API Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining backend services and application programming interfaces (APIs) that support RMF business and engineering applications. The role focuses on building secure, reliable, and maintainable backend solutions using Microsoft Azure, .NET, and Python within homegrown web applications. This position works closely with cross-functional teams to implement well-defined requirements and deliver scalable solutions while leveraging Generative AI (GenAI)-enabled engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support backend services and RESTful APIs in a production environment.
• Develop internal APIs using C#, .NET, and Python, including OpenAPI / Swagger documentation.
• Apply SOLID principles and established design patterns to create maintainable solutions.
• Implement and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Develop and operate applications within an enterprise Microsoft Azure cloud platform using Azure Functions, Azure App Services, and Azure Redis.
• Work with multiple data storage models including Document databases, Azure Storage Accounts, and SQL databases.
• Use enterprise-approved Generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot to assist with code generation and refactoring.
• Work within enterprise tools such as Azure DevOps Pipelines, Visual Studio Code, and ServiceNow.

Requirements

• Proven experience in backend API engineering and software development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, asynchronous processing, and threading.
• Experience with cloud-native development and containerization concepts.
• Ability to work within established enterprise standards and deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of Angular and Blazor for UI integration and troubleshooting.
