Software Engineer

Role Overview

CleverBooks helps e-commerce and D2C brands maintain financial accuracy by reconciling messy data from platforms like Shopify, marketplaces, and payment gateways. As an SDE Intern, you will join a small, fast-moving team to work on real-world problems involving data integrity and reconciliation logic.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and modify existing codebases without breaking functionality.
• Trace data discrepancies to their root causes and fix underlying logic.
• Build and debug reconciliation and data-integrity features across the MERN stack.
• Handle complex edge cases such as missing data, duplicates, and mismatched sources.
• Verify work to ensure numerical accuracy and explain technical changes clearly.

Requirements

• Comfortable with JavaScript or the MERN stack (or ability to learn quickly).
• Ability to navigate and modify unfamiliar codebases safely.
• Strong debugging instincts and a desire to find root causes.
• High attention to detail regarding correctness and edge cases.
• Clear written communication skills.
• Ability to commit consistent daily hours (not suitable for students with full-day college schedules).
