Software Engineer

Role Overview

Seeking a software engineer to design, build, and enhance enterprise applications using Oracle, Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Core, Node JS, REST web services, PL SQL, and microservices within a hybrid work model. The role focuses on contributing to secure, scalable, and resilient solutions that support life and annuities insurance operations.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable microservices based applications that integrate Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Core, and REST web services.
• Develop high quality reusable and modular code in Core Java and Node JS.
• Implement secure and robust REST web service interfaces.
• Create and optimize PL SQL packages, procedures, and queries in Oracle databases.
• Collaborate with business analysts and solution designers to translate functional requirements into technical designs.
• Perform unit, integration, and regression testing for service components.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Coordinate with DevOps for build, deployment, and configuration activities.
• Document design decisions, interface contracts, and operational runbooks.
• Engage with product owners to understand life and annuities insurance processes.
• Participate in agile ceremonies including planning, refinement, and retrospectives.
• Apply secure coding practices and data protection principles.

Requirements

• Four to five years of hands-on software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• Solid proficiency in Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Core, microservices, REST web services, Oracle, and PL SQL.
• Practical experience with Node JS for building backend services.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts including schema design and query optimization within Oracle platforms.
• Familiarity with life and annuities insurance concepts.
• Knowledge of agile methods, continuous integration, and version control tools.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
