Role Overview
As a Software Engineer for North, you will bridge the gap between Cohere's core product and enterprise clients. You will own the design, build, and deployment of agentic workflows powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), transforming ambiguous business problems into production-grade AI agents that integrate with tools, APIs, and data sources.
Responsibilities
- Translate high-value business problems into agentic workflows with clear evaluation methodologies.
- Lead the design and delivery of LLM-powered agents that reason and act across enterprise data sources.
- Build and ship features for the North AI workspace platform across the full product lifecycle.
- Take end-to-end ownership of use cases, including frontend development when necessary.
- Contribute to shared frameworks and patterns to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Travel up to 20–40% to work on-site with customers and partners.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience building and deploying production-grade software in Python.
- Proven experience building RAG and agentic applications (e.g., ReAct or Plan-and-Execute patterns).
- Deep familiarity with the LLM stack, including frontier models, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks.
- Ability to build robust evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, safety, and latency.
- Experience leading technical discussions with enterprise stakeholders.

- Experience setting architectural standards for AI and agentic systems.
- Exposure to regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or telecoms.
- Experience with enterprise security, compliance, or auditability for AI systems.
