Job Description
Role Overview
An L2 IT Hardware and Software Engineer provides second-tier technical support, hands-on troubleshooting, and infrastructure maintenance across hardware, software, network security, and cloud environments. This role requires independent problem-solving, escalation handling from L1, and ownership of IT asset lifecycle management.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues including desktops, laptops, servers, and printers.
- Troubleshoot OS-level issues across Windows, Linux, and macOS.
- Monitor and maintain firewall rules, policies, and access control lists.
- Manage and monitor AWS cloud infrastructure including EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT hardware and software assets using ITAM tools.
- Perform OS installation, imaging, and software deployment.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on IT support/infrastructure experience.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Working knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
- Understanding of ITIL processes.
