Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to ensure the quality of IMD (In-Mould Decoration) components produced through the injection moulding process. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining product quality, conducting inspections, identifying defects, supporting corrective actions, and coordinating closely with production to ensure adherence to customer and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspection of IMD components as per approved quality standards.
- Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspection of moulded components.
- Verify product dimensions using measuring instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, and Go/No-Go Gauges.
- Inspect parts for cosmetic defects including scratches, bubbles, silver marks, colour variation, print defects, sink marks, flash, weld lines, and surface imperfections.
- Identify quality issues, perform Root Cause Analysis, and coordinate CAPA.
- Raise non-conformance reports (NCR) and maintain records of rejection, rework, and quality deviations.
- Maintain inspection reports, quality check sheets, and traceability records.
- Ensure proper implementation of SOPs and quality procedures.
- Support customer audits, internal audits, and process audits.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance within the Injection Moulding or Plastics Manufacturing industry.
- CIPET Diploma/Degree in Plastics Engineering or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Injection Moulding and IMD components.
- Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of quality tools such as 7 QC Tools, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand dimensional tolerances.
- Familiarity with ISO/IATF quality systems.
