Software Engineer - Intern

Role Overview

DeskBuddy is building an AI receptionist for Indian businesses that handles phone calls in Hindi and English to book appointments and capture leads. As an intern, you will not be doing menial tasks; you will be helping build the product from scratch, sitting inside the product team to solve real-world problems from the ground floor.

Responsibilities

• Write code across the stack, including frontend and backend.
• Work with Voice AI, LLMs, real-time speech pipelines, and telephony.
• Test the AI agent on real phone calls to ensure quality.
• Talk to potential customers to understand their needs and translate them into product features.
• Debug technical issues and participate in product roadmap decisions.

Requirements

• Proven track record of building projects (side projects, bots, scrapers, etc.).
• Comfortable or fast at learning JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Python.
• Curiosity about Voice AI, LLMs, speech-to-text, and TTS.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical bugs clearly.
• Ability to work remotely and independently.
