Undergraduate Programming Intern

Role Overview

Dog Water Studios is searching for a dedicated Undergraduate Programming Intern to support our engineering team as we prepare our upcoming titles for multi-platform release. You will play a crucial part in bridging the gap between core development and final deployment, ensuring software architecture scales across different hardware ecosystems and navigating Unreal Engine complexities and console certification pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Engineer solutions to resolve TRC and TCR compliance issues for PlayStation and Xbox platforms.
• Architect and integrate localization frameworks, including string tables and dynamic font rendering.
• Profile and optimize runtime performance, memory allocation, and CPU/GPU bottlenecks within Unreal Engine.
• Develop internal tools and scripts to streamline asset integration.
• Manage code merges and branch stability within version control environments.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program for Computer Science, Game Development, or a related technical field.
• Demonstrable experience working with C++ and Blueprint visual scripting in Unreal Engine.
• Strong foundational knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Experience using Perforce (P4V) and advanced branch management.
• Prior exposure to console SDKs, cross-platform porting, or rendering APIs.
