Role Overview
As DP World progresses in its mission of being a global trade enabler, we are looking for an engineer who loves working on a highly complex distributed web application. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to benchmark systems performance, find performance issues, and own performance test plans and execution for large-scale projects.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of performance test tools, framework, and automation.
- Design and execute performance test plans to validate system performance and stability.
- Analyze test results, resource utilization, and system metrics to identify issues and suggest improvements for capacity, reliability, and scalability.
- Work with developers, SDET, and stakeholders to fix performance issues.
- Design and conduct tests with complex workloads to expose potential bottlenecks and failure points.
- Validate fail-over/recovery scenarios and measure impact on response times.
- Derive performance improvement opportunities by analyzing production metrics and trends.
- Design and develop Performance Engineering aides like profiles, traces, or observability frameworks.
- Prepare performance test reports with observations and recommendations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 1.6-4 years of work experience in performance testing and analysis, preferably for large-scale distributed web applications.
- Experience in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong hands-on experience in at least one programming language with the ability to code independently.
- Strong experience with open-source performance testing tools and frameworks.
- Ability to recognize performance issues and risks in a distributed environment.
