Role Overview
As a Software Engineer with Dun & Bradstreet, you will help design, build and support highly available, low-latency RESTful APIs that power the D&B Direct+ platform. You will work as part of an agile engineering team, contributing to well-defined features and service improvements from development through testing, deployment and production support.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development and delivery of features and platform capabilities for the Direct+ API suite.
- Build and maintain RESTful services using Java, Spring Boot and cloud-native technologies.
- Participate in technical design discussions, proof of concepts and implementation planning.
- Write clean, maintainable and testable code with appropriate unit and integration test coverage.
- Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality and engineering practice.
- Support production services by helping investigate issues, troubleshoot defects and contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, SRE and other engineering teams to deliver reliable customer-facing capabilities.
- Apply secure development practices and contribute to remediation of vulnerabilities and technical debt.
- Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity, code quality, documentation and testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience developing commercial software applications or services.
- Experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, JSON, JUnit/Mockito and Maven or similar build tooling.
- Good understanding of object-oriented design, microservices and API development principles.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and interest in cloud-native delivery practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing and agile delivery practices.
- Ability to investigate software issues and work with others to resolve defects across application and service layers.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communicator who can explain technical issues, risks and options to engineering peers and stakeholders.
- Awareness of secure coding practices, data protection and operational resilience.
