Software Engineer Intern

Role Overview

eBay is looking for motivated software engineer interns to build robust and scalable software, improve code services and system architecture, and work with product and design teams to deliver results. You will work alongside industry-leading engineering talent to develop distributed systems powering one of the world's largest e-commerce platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build robust and scalable software and improve system architecture.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and supply ideas for technology, algorithms, and products.
• Work with product and design teams to understand end-user requirements and formulate use cases.
• Estimate engineering efforts, prioritize projects, plan implementations, and triage production issues.
• Develop distributed systems at a massive global scale.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelors or Masters degree program in India graduating in 2028.
• Maximum of 0-3 years of professional full-time relevant work experience.
• Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, design patterns, and the complete SDLC.
• Deep understanding of algorithms and data structures (e.g., linked lists, hash maps, DFS/BFS, merge sort).
• Proven experience building software applications through academic, private, or professional projects.
• Analytical and data-driven mindset with the ability to convert abstract concepts into viable products.

Nice to Have

• Experience applying Generative AI to code generation, debugging, or documentation.
• Interest in Full Stack development.
