Software Engineer Trainee

Role Overview

As a software engineering professional at Emerson, you will learn and apply software engineering best practices in product development activities, contributing to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software products under the guidance of senior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of Emerson software products.
• Develop and maintain software features and participate in code reviews.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues identified during development and testing.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Development, Testing, Product Management, and Customer Support.
• Support automation, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• MTech or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline (Graduation 2025 or 2026).
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and object-oriented concepts.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as C#, C++, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Basic understanding of SDLC.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Windows application development, web technologies, or cloud platforms.
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
• Exposure to software testing, automation, or DevOps.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Exposure to AI-assisted development tools.
• Knowledge of industrial automation, control systems, or IoT technologies.
