Role Overview
Esri is the world leader in geographic information systems (GIS) and developer of ArcGIS. At the Esri R&D Center-New Delhi, we are applying cutting-edge AI and deep learning techniques to revolutionize geospatial analysis. As a Product Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and usability of our geospatial AI tools, models, and libraries by designing test plans, writing test code, and validating software, SDKs, and AI models.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement test plans and test cases, write test code, and verify code changes to maintain product quality
- Review and analyse test results; report status on software quality and stability; test and certify software, SDK, and AI model quality
- Troubleshoot and triage customer issues and analyse user feedback
- Collaborate with data scientists and engineers on the testing, documentation and release of tools, APIs and pretrained models
- Develop samples, tutorials, documentation, blog posts and presentations
- Develop pre-trained geospatial AI models for imagery, 3D datasets and text
Requirements
- 2+ years of industry experience in software development or QA environment
- Hands-on experience in QA processes, test automation, and product certification
- Proficiency in Python and Jupyter notebooks, GIS libraries like GDAL/Rasterio or ArcPy, and/or testing frameworks like Pytest
- Familiarity with GIS concepts, spatial data, and geospatial workflows
- Basic understanding of machine learning and deep learning workflows
- Technical writing skills for authoring samples and documentation
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, engineering, computer science, math, or related fields
- Existing work authorization for India
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in a related field
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and Agile/Scrum
- Hands-on experience with the ArcGIS suite or open-source GIS software
- Experience with remote sensing, satellite imagery, and multispectral image analysis
