Role Overview
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing data and analytics team. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and analytical solutions that enable business users to monitor performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. This position plays an important role in supporting insurance domain reporting and analytics use cases.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and semantic models to support business reporting and decision-making needs.
- Work with business stakeholders to gather requirements, define KPIs, translate reporting needs into technical specifications, and deliver user-friendly BI solutions.
- Develop efficient data models, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and reusable reporting components.
- Validate data, reconcile report outputs, troubleshoot reporting issues, and support ongoing enhancements.
- Support migration of legacy reports and dashboards to Power BI by assessing existing reports, mapping business logic, and rebuilding visuals.
- Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure reliable data availability from source systems, data marts, and warehouses.
- Follow Agile delivery practices including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and documentation.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of industry experience as a Business Intelligence Developer, BI Analyst, or Reporting Developer.
- 2–3 years of core insurance domain experience (claims, policy, underwriting, billing, or reinsurance).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Business Analytics, or Engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, data modeling, DAX, and Power Query.
- Hands-on experience in migrating reports from legacy BI platforms to Power BI.
- Good understanding of SQL and relational data concepts.
- Experience in defining business metrics, KPIs, and visual storytelling approaches.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of other BI tools such as Tableau, Qlik, MicroStrategy, or Looker.
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms or analytics ecosystems such as Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, or SQL Server.
