AI Applications Engineer

Role Overview

Five9 is a leading provider of cloud contact center software, bringing the power of Five9 AI and automation to organizations worldwide. The AI Applications Engineer (Platform focus) builds and operates the platform Five9's AI solutions run on, creating the paved road for AI automation, including cloud environments, delivery pipelines, model and agent runtime, and security guardrails.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the AI platform on the cloud, ensuring it is production-grade, secure, and reliable.
• Provision and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Build and maintain CI/CD and delivery pipelines with automated testing and security gates.
• Stand up model and agent serving, evaluation, and version management (MLOps/LLMOps).
• Build secure connectors, data pipelines, and integration surfaces.
• Engineer security, data-classification, and responsible-AI controls (IAM, secrets, policy-as-code).
• Build shared libraries, templates, and self-service tooling.
• Instrument monitoring, logging, cost, and SLOs for observability and reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years in platform, DevOps, infrastructure, or MLOps engineering.
• Deep hands-on cloud experience (Google Cloud preferred).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong CI/CD engineering skills.
• Experience running ML/LLM or data-intensive systems in production.
• Solid security-engineering fundamentals.
