Role Overview
The Global Data Insights and Analytics (GDI&A) department at Ford Motors Company is looking for qualified people who can develop scalable solutions to complex real-world problems using Machine Learning, Big Data, Statistics, Econometrics, and Optimization. The goal is to drive evidence-based decision making across applications including Connected Vehicle, Smart Mobility, Advanced Operations, Manufacturing, Supply chain, Logistics, and Quality Analytics.
Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and analyze datasets to determine suitable approaches to meet analytic business needs.
- Design and implement data analysis and ML models, hypotheses, algorithms and experiments.
- Apply various analytics techniques like data mining, predictive modeling, and prescriptive modeling to uncover meaningful patterns.
- Design efficient data loading, data augmentation and data analysis techniques to enhance model accuracy and robustness.
- Research and stay updated in the domain of data science and machine learning to identify avenues for enhancing efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data science, computer science, Operational research, Statistics, Applied mathematics, or an engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Python programming for data analysis and machine learning.
- 2+ years of experience with both supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques.
- 2+ years of experience with data analysis and visualization using Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, or Seaborn.
- 1+ years of experience in SQL programming and relational databases.
Nice to Have
- MS/PhD in a quantitative field (PhD strongly preferred).
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with Git and GitHub.
- Familiarity with C/C++ or Java.
- Experience working with Large Language Models such as GPT-4, PaLM, or Llama-2.
