Software Engineer Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer Intern who is passionate about building scalable systems, solving technical problems, and learning how products work at scale. As part of the FRND engineering team, you’ll get hands-on experience building and improving APIs, databases, and core backend services that power our product.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and developing backend services, APIs, and features.
• Work primarily with Python & Django, with exposure to Java.
• Work with databases to store, manage, and optimise data efficiently.
• Collaborate with frontend/mobile developers, product managers, and designers to build robust features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in debugging, testing, and improving application performance.
• Learn and explore new backend technologies, tools, and engineering best practices.
• Contribute to real product features and backend systems in a fast-paced startup environment.

Requirements

• Available for an in-office internship for 6 months.
• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of Python and Django.
• Familiarity with Java and object-oriented programming.
• Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and basic networking concepts.
• Familiarity with Git is a plus.
• Curiosity, ownership, and a strong willingness to learn.
