Data Analyst Intern (Backend & AI)

Role Overview

This role is for a Data Analyst Intern focused on both Backend development and Artificial Intelligence integration within our in-built ERP system. The ideal candidate is comfortable with hands-on data manipulation, backend scripting, and exploring new AI agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Google Sheets automations using Apps Script and formulas.
• Contribute to the in-built ERP system codebase, adding features and fixing bugs using Django/Python for backend logic.
• Prepare, clean, and manage datasets to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Own data workflows end-to-end, including transformation, reporting, and dashboards.
• Maintain structured data across internal systems.
• Build REST APIs and backend modules to support internal tools.
• Automate repetitive processes using Python or Apps Script.
• Integrate third-party platforms via APIs.
• Build AI agents that plug into the ERP system (e.g., automated billing reconciliation, anomaly detection).
• Help design and implement agentic workflows where the ERP can reason, decide, and act.

Requirements

• Strong, non-negotiable proficiency in Python.
• Practical, hands-on experience with Google Sheets and Apps Script.
• Knowledge of data cleaning and preparation best practices.
• Familiarity with Django or a strong willingness to learn it quickly.
• Basic understanding of Git/GitHub.
• Understanding of how REST APIs work.
• Understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar AI coding assistants.
• Genuine curiosity in AI agents and agentic development (hands-on experience is a bonus).
• Familiarity with Excel / Power BI is a nice to have.
• Must be comfortable with significant raw data work (fixing inconsistencies, cleaning messy exports).
• Must be comfortable travelling to Chembur for in-person work.
