Role Overview
The Software Engineer supports delivery by building and enhancing enterprise application components, integrations, and data structures using an AI-first engineering approach. This role sits within IT, aligned to HCM Portfolio Leadership, and supports forward-deployed engineering (FDE) delivery teams, contributing to both initial builds and ongoing sustainment.
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance full stack application components across front-end, back-end, and integration layers.
- Contribute to solutions using an AI-first mindset, incorporating AI-enabled workflows and automation.
- Develop and support API-based integrations and batch/mass data processing workflows.
- Assist with data modeling, database design, and data structuring.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and stakeholders in a cross-functional, FDE model.
- Support testing, deployment, and post-release sustainment activities.
- Follow enterprise standards including security, access, and change/release controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in software engineering or application development.
- Hands-on experience with back-end services (e.g., Python) and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React.js, Next.js, TypeScript).
- Experience building or consuming APIs and supporting system integrations.
- Foundational understanding of databases and data structures.
- Experience using source control tools such as GitHub.
- Exposure to SDLC practices.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Workday or related HR/workforce platforms.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure Pipelines).
