Software Engineer I, International Expansion

Role Overview

As a Software Engineer I, you will own the full stack of impact, from fellow-facing experiences to internal tools and platform capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of product engineering, platform infrastructure, and operations, partnering with Growth, Product, Operations, and ML to translate workflows into reliable, scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and own core experiences across the fellow platform, including onboarding and project opportunities.
• Architect internal tools, automations, and workflows to improve operational throughput and visibility.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business processes into high-quality technical solutions.
• Lead projects end-to-end from discovery and technical design through implementation and rollout.
• Drive architectural improvements to reduce technical debt and establish scalable service layers.
• Mentor other engineers through technical leadership and strong engineering practices.

Requirements

• 1-3+ years of professional software engineering experience owning production systems.
• Experience leading technical projects involving multiple contributors.
• Strong engineering judgment and systems thinking for designing scalable architectures.
• Experience improving or modernizing existing systems and balancing rapid development with platform health.
• Experience building internal tools, workflow systems, or automation.
• Ability to operate in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

• Experience building marketplace, allocation, or matching systems.
• Experience with AI workflows and agentic infrastructure.
• Experience designing service-oriented architectures or platform infrastructure.
• Experience with workflow/backlog systems and operational analytics.
