Role Overview
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is the global edge-to-cloud company advancing the way people live and work. This role involves contributing to core HPE HPC storage products supporting HPC and AI workloads, working on features that directly impact system performance, scalability, and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain core storage system components (data path, metadata, protocols, and management services)
- Design and implement scalable, distributed storage features with focus on performance and reliability
- Debug and resolve complex system-level issues across software, firmware, and hardware interactions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, networking, performance, and support)
- Contribute to system architecture, design reviews, and feature planning
- Ensure compliance with HPE secure development lifecycle and coding standards
- Support testing, validation, and release activities
- Produce technical documentation and participate in code reviews
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- Typically 4-6 years experience
- Strong programming skills in C/C++ (Python a plus)
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems and system-level development
- Knowledge of distributed systems and parallel computing concepts
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, high-speed interconnects)
- Experience with storage technologies (file systems, block or object storage)
Nice to Have
- Experience with Lustre and/or HPC storage systems
- Experience in performance tuning and large-scale distributed systems
- Familiarity with cloud-native or microservices architectures
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools
- Exposure to hardware/software integration (servers, SSD/HDD, networking)
