Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Software Engineer to be part of a large-scale transformation of H&M’s online platform by contributing to a central platform that supports teams across the organization. You will have the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering standards, and developer experience while working on impactful solutions with long-term value. You will be part of the Product Team – Hybris Strangling, working on the Global Configuration Service (GCS) built on Azure App Configuration.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design and maintain backend services, APIs, and Java-based SDKs for the Global Configuration Service.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions on Azure, including event-driven and API-based architectures.
- Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability through optimization techniques and caching strategies.
- Ensure secure service communication and compliance with security standards across distributed systems.
- Collaborate with frontend, backend, platform, and security teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of strong Java backend development experience with expertise in REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including cloud-native solutions and IAM/RBAC.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, API integrations, and shared libraries/SDKs.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Maven, Git, and caching mechanisms like Redis.
- Experience implementing testing strategies, including automation and integration testing.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Azure App Configuration or similar platforms.
- Experience with messaging patterns, API management, and API gateway solutions.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk.
- Exposure to SAP Commerce/Hybris and legacy modernization approaches.
