Role Overview
We're hiring a QA Engineer (Automation) to be embedded within our engineering team. This is a proactive role where you will read PRDs alongside engineers, define testable acceptance criteria, write tests, wire them into CI, and build the infrastructure to make coverage visible across the team. You will also own test environments and the go-live gate for new client onboardings.
Responsibilities
- Produce integration and E2E test coverage by reading PRDs and working with product to ensure testable acceptance criteria.
- Build and maintain a configuration matrix harness for parameterized tests across various client settings.
- Own the go-live readiness gate to validate new client configurations before deployment.
- Design and maintain seeded test tenants with stable configurations.
- Integrate tests into GitHub Actions as quality gates within the CI pipeline.
- Track coverage and pass rate trends to build stability visibility dashboards.
- Introduce load and performance testing using tools like k6 or Locust.
Requirements
- 4+ years of QA engineering experience with a focus on test automation.
- Proven experience building or substantially improving an E2E test suite from an existing baseline.
- Strong proficiency with Playwright or ability to transition to it quickly.
- Experience testing .NET (C#) APIs, including HTTP-level integration tests and database seeding.
- Hands-on experience wiring tests into GitHub Actions as blocking quality gates.
- Ability to independently produce test plans from PRDs including edge cases.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical decisions to diverse stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Domain experience in food & beverage, retail, or hospitality SaaS.
- Familiarity with load/performance testing tools.
- Experience designing and maintaining test data environments at scale.
